Danæg Group is partly owned by Danish and Swedish farmers and by DLG, one of Europe’s leading companies within food, energy and housing. The company was founded in 1895 by farmers. Back then we were owned by approximately 40.000 farmers. Today we are partly owned by about 50 Danish and Swedish farmers.

Since 1895 we have demanded the highest standards for our products. With roots in Denmark and the cooperative mindset we have a strong Scandinavian foundation today focusing on the community. Both as a united company and as a business partner across countries and skills. From the farmers to the laboratory assistant, from developing new products to quality control. We have good quality, high food safety and traceability in common – it’s the DNA of Danæg Group.

We develop strong brands and products, always with the egg in the center, from raw materials to tasteful processed food. With 130 years of experience we are used to be thinking in long terms and being ahead of developments. We believe that eggs are the future. As a climate-friendly source to animal protein. Tradition goes hand in hand with innovation, thus we can offer our customers eggs full of possibilities.

With roots in Scandinavia, we deliver eggs in all forms to the entire world. We have companies in Denmark, Sweden and Finland with hundreds of employees and farmers across the countries. We are individual experts on eggs, with good quality as common ground. We have a strong foundation, both as a supplier as well as a business partner, and we have a profound insight into both the food industry as well as all the options we can offer our customers.

We were founded in 1895 as Dansk Andels Ægeksport by farmers. Today we have approximately 400 employees.
We deliver shell eggs of high quality and processed egg products to retail, food service and the industry and we export to more than 50 different countries.
We are the Nordic leading company when it comes to shell eggs, liquid eggs, egg powder, convenience egg products and our patented EasySlice Deli Eggs.
Our vision: To remain the Nordic market leader in eggs and to bring innovative and sustainable food and inspiration to the world.
Our mission: To collect, sort and stamp the eggs of our producers in the best possible way, and to ensure consumers the highest quality of eggs and egg products, while taking food safety and animal welfare into account.

OUR HERITAGE
We go all the way back to 1895. By the mid-1880’s English traders complained multiple times about the Danish eggs, because they were either rotten or half-rotten by the time they reached England. The visionary teacher Frederik Møller took charge and founded Dansk Andels Ægeksport in order to save the Danish export of eggs. Strict quality requirements for the producers, the introduction of stamping of the eggs and good sorting were the decisive factors for the company’s success for 130 years.

1906 Appointed “Supplier to the Royal Danish Court”
1976 Changes name to Dansk Andels Æg
1982 Danæg A/S gather all production in Christiansfeld
1991 Danæg A/S and Danæg Products A/S are established as independent subsidiaries
2005 Danæg AMBA and Kronägg merge, and Kronägg AB is established
2009 Danæg AMBA becomes 100 % owner of Källbergs Industri AB and Danæg Products A/S
2013 Joint ownership with DLG, as the DLG Group acquires 30 % of the Danæg Group
2015 The Danæg Group acquires 24 % of Munax Oy in Finland
2016 DLG acquires an additional 15 % of the Danæg Group
2017 DLG acquires another 5 % of the Danæg Group and now owns 50 %
2018 The Danæg Group acquires the egg packaging plant Henriettelund in Sweden
2021 The Danæg Group acquires the remaining shares of Munax Oy
2023 The Danæg Group acquires Torggummans Ägg in Sweden
2024 The Danæg Group acquires Chickpulp and the company is renamed BioChick A/S
