Seven companies in Denmark, Sweden and Finland, a position as Nordic leader of the egg market and the second highest financial result in the Group’s 130-year history.
Danæg Group is the new name for the seven companies in Danæg Holding A/S.
The Danish part of the Group consists of the three companies, Danæg Products A/S and BioChick A/S as well as Danæg A/S, which holds the longest history of the Group with its 130 years in 2025.
The remaining four companies of the Group are the three Swedish companies, Kronägg AB, Källberg Industri AB and Torggummans Ägg and last but not least the Finnish company Munax Oy.
Stronger and with more product variants
The CEO of Danæg Group, Jann Dollerup Vig Jensen, explains:
- All of our companies have a very strong brand in their domestic countries. Therefore, they maintain their individual brand and identity in their own country. But as a united Group and when we introduce ourselves to new markets, we go by the name Danæg Group.
- We offer a wide variety of eggs – e.g. traditional shell eggs, liquid eggs, convenience egg products and egg powder products. Together we have the power and the muscles to act in a volatile global market.
The shareholders of Danæg AMBA were introduced to both the new identity of the Danæg Group and the financial result of 2024 at the annual general assembly on Wednesday March 5th 2025.
Satisfied with the results after the record year 2023
In 2024, the Danæg Group achieved a profit after taxes of 55,1 mio. DKK. The allocation of dividends for 2024 is 30 mio. DKK, equally shared between the Danish and Swedish shareholders and DLG, who each own 50 pct. of the Danæg Group.
- Following a record year is always difficult. However, we are very satisfied with the 2024 results. The financial result is higher than expected in the beginning of 2024 and we have chosen to invest in new robots in the production and in new facilities, says Jann Dollerup Vig Jensen.
2024 has been a volatile year due to e.g. poultry diseases. Especially avian influenza on a global scale resulted in millions of hens being put down, which led to a massive global demand for eggs. Additionally, the countries in the southern part of Europe have changed their production form from caged eggs to barn eggs. Furthermore, a political demand for less animal production in Holland has led to a decrease in egg production in the country. As a whole, this has pushed the egg prices up as well as the industrial prices in the second half year of 2024.
- 2024 has indeed been a difficult year. The higher prices on raw materials have been challenging for especially our processing factories, Danæg Products A/S in Denmark and Källbergs Industri AB in Sweden. However, our packing plants have managed to partly equalize it, says the CEO.
A new Group-office in Christiansfeld
A part of the 2024 investment in 2024 has been used for the construction of a new office building for Danæg Group in Christiansfeld, Denmark. The building is scheduled for completion and use in the spring of 2025. The historical town of Christiansfeld, just south of Kolding, has been the hometown of Danæg Group and the Danish administration since the beginning of the 1980’s.
Danæg Group maintain the local association with the new office building just across the street from the egg packing plant Danæg A/S and the processing factory Danæg Products A/S.
Upon the relocation of Danæg Group’s administration to the new office building, the existing buildings will be repurposed to function as warehouses and production areas, alongside improved facilities for the production employees.
